Week 4

August 12th – 16th

Respect: We are learning to following directions the first time given so as not to distract others’ learning.

Responsibility: We are learning to be responsible for completing our homework assignment each night as well as returning our homework planners/progress reports on time.

This week in:

Language Arts – We begin “The State Government and It’s Citizens”. We will read to annotate, identify the main idea and key details.

Math – We are learning to solve comparison word problems for addition and subtraction using a tape diagram.

Please continue practicing multiplication tables. Have your child practice skip counting. For example: 4, 8, 12, 16, 20, 24, …………48, 52

Writing – We will be finishing our narrative writing about Firefly.

Social Studies – We will finish and present our findings about the four regions of California.

Science – Physical Science – Force Essential Question: How do you make an object move?

Remember these dates:

August 15th – Curriculum Night Grades 4 – 6 @ 6:00 – 7:30pm See you on Thursday.

August 23rd – Camp Night! Beginning at 5:30pm. Campers may come as early as 5:00pm to set up their camp site. PTA members – your camp reservation is free. Please call early since sites are limited.

September 2nd – Labor Day (No School)

September 12th – 19th Parent Teacher Conferences (Minimum Days)

September 20th – Last Day of 1st Quarter.
